Collages

These collage/paintings were done appr. 2006. They are put together with cuts from my own work, cuts from adds and National Geographic magazines and actual painting directly. The piece with the bug eyes is entitled "Thirst" and is 14" x 18" and framed with wood lathe from an old house in Detroit. The piece with the red lips is entitled "Talk To The Hand" It is 16" x 20" and is also framed with old house lathe. The last is entitled "Fire in the Wood". I am not exactly sure of the dimensions because I gave the piece to my brother-in-law. I think it is 9" x 12".

Faces

These faces were done within the last few months, some on slate, some on 5"x 7" canvas board, none larger that 9". They have all been sold except the grey face with the orange background.

"Sangha Trees"

Originally the sangha were the monks that followed the historical Buddha. Today the word is used in some buddhist temples to mean "the community of all beings". Since faces keep appearing in the trees and there seems to be this growing tree community in the work, thus the name Sangha. Sometimes I think I am done painting trees and suddenly another one is seen popping out of the brush. Curious.
